Workshop | The Art of Documentary Filmmaking

Snap! Downtown presents ‘The Art of Documentary Filmmaking,’ a one day hands-on workshop with Emmy Award winning director/producer Bill Suchy, teaching the skills, craft and business of creating successful documentary style films and videos. Snap! Space, 1013 E. Colonial Dr. Orlando, 32803.

Bill Suchy is a former Managing Producer for Disney Attractions Television and has written and/or produced over a dozen documentaries including the Emmy-winning PBS program Earl Cunningham: The Dragon of St. George Street; the Emmy-nominated Silver Wings, Flying Dreams: The Complete Story of the Women Airforce Service Pilots; the WNET PBS Nature Special Cats; the Academy Award nominated documentary Building Bombs; and the acclaimed PBS documentaries, In Praise of Wild Florida, For the Love of Manatees, Writing in the Upward Years, A Citrus Legacy, Future Vision and Nature’s Landlords.

Suchy also created, wrote, produced and directed the Emmy-nominated Disney series Secrets of the Animal Kingdom; the Emmy-winning youth series Sports Zone; and was head writer for Ed McMahon’s Next Big Star pilots, as well as writer/producer for American Health and Fitness and Rollerjam. Suchy co-wrote and produced the feature film Deadly Species and from 2003 through 2016 Suchy was General Manager and Executive Producer for Orange TV and Vision TV.
