Artist Talk | Taking Flight

We are delighted to have included the work of Nathan Selikoff in our next exhibit, 'Taking Flight.' This exhibition examined the transitional and transformative state of an idea, an individual, or a collective as it evolves into a distinctive form or realization. An unconfined and unrestrained existence arises to come into being. Nathan joined us to give an inspiring talk about his process and path as an artist.

About the artist

"I love the ways that art intersects with technology, math, science and nature."

Nathan is a fine artist playing at the intersection of interactivity, math and code. Inspired by the behavior of systems, science, nature, and music, he combines computer code, traditional materials, and future technology to bring new ideas to life. He has spoken on this subject at galleries, schools and universities, conferences, and public events across the country. His work was on view at Snap! Space, as well as his wall size experimental interactive art display, 'Beautiful Chaos.'

Nathan's award-winning artwork has been exhibited and performed in galleries and venues around the world, including Art Basel in Switzerland, Hungary, Canada, Holland, Boston and Los Angeles.

Nathan was selected as TEDxOrlando's inaugural artist-in-residence! In addition to designing their set, he presented a talk, and spoke about his beautiful and mysterious artwork, the result of computer programming, as well as his fascinating approach to the creative process on September 12th, 2015.
